Geesh.....talk about gouging people....

And they don't even have the decency to include anything?????? I think it's sad when landlords feel the need to be sooooooo darn greedy...I understand wanting to make a profit,,,but there's such a thing as a profit and flat out taking advantage .... 11|1|Ouch!|sunriver|lithiasalt@cheerful.com|19:55:58|09/22/2008|

I feel for you.

I remember when I first moved here almost 20 years ago, my 1st apartment was just $350 a month. Of course back then I was probably making all of $3.35 an hour or something like that, LOL!
Now we pay $720 for a 2 bedroom and are just about 1/2 mile from that first place. Can't imagine living anywhere else though! I love it here. I hope someday to have a house or something...even a trailer I would be grateful for..It is hard when you have to spend on rent...nothing to save for a house..and I have bad credit so I will need a nice sum of cash down when I do buy.

Rent is so expensive...When we lived in Herndon, Virginia, we were paying nearly $1700 for a two bedroom apt. It was ridiculous..Over in Culpeper, VA we got a huge 3 story house for $1200 a month, what a difference...Prices are terrible and it's hard to find affordable living these days girlie...We are considering moving back to VA and near our oldest son, he has a two bedroom two story apt/townhouse for $600 which is half of what we are paying here... Only one bath, but we have a 2 (really 4) car garage, 1 grain barn (storage for us) and a HUGE barn. That is where the piggies are now, but my son is doing a haunted barn for Halloween. We did one last year and had a ball! We got really lucky. During grass growing season, he lowers it to $700/mo rent because we cut the grass at his vacant house across the way. He had told us on numeral occasions that we are the best renters he has had and has even had the neighbors AND TOWNSHIP call to compliment on how well the house is being kept up. Oh, and we have a chicken coop (large) and another storage shed (old, can't use it) behind that. Everything is so old here, the house isn't even on record...The one bathroom really kills us, but since I am the only female we have an agreement that the boys can all go outside and mom gets to use the bathroom. We have definitely turned country. The school is 3 doors down, but the bus still picks up my son. We are just outside the big city and the e-way is only 3 miles from us. We love it here!! 20|1|Thats more than my mortgage but I make upfor it with|tollman62|thebossatnight@yahoo.com|11:53:09|09/23/2008|

Well I bet my city can give yours a run for the money when it comes to utility taxes? Ours are 25%! Isn't that insane? In a city of about 20,000'ish and a city budget of $94 MILLION dollars.

$4000 a year for heat and electric for a 1450 sq ft house. I started insulating and other energy saving thins when I bought the house 3 years ago just hoping to keep the bills to a modest increase each year.
