I had a trade come back to me once with not enough postage....so I added the additional postage and re-mailed. I sent an email to the trader explaining my error and apologized for the delay. She was very understanding and we continue to trade to this day :)

Once I also received a trade with "postage due"..... I had to pay .13 I dont know why they didnt send it back to the sender. I paid the .13 and never told the trader who sent it.

Have a good one, Cindy 3|1|Please keep adding your comments!!!|Bonnie44060|Bonnie44060@oh.rr.com|09:24:10|09/16/2008|

I have a bet with someone!

I weigh my envelopes so haven't had any problems!

She laughs @ me and says she has never had any returned to her postage due! And has never heard anyone say they had trade come postage due! 5|2|Yeah, I've had a couple come postage due|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|09:31:18|09/16/2008|

But I've never understand what the heck I'm supposed to do....LOL....leave the .17 in the mailbox for the next day? I have a little scale, so I don't get mine returned to me as insufficient postage except one time I left the stamp off completely.

I'm not sure what causes the envelope to sometimes be returned to the sender as insufficient postage and sometimes to be delivered to the receiver as postage due. Maybe depending when the mistake is caught whether it's at the sorting plant or by the delivery person?

I've received one envelope needing an oddball amount of postage due....and I've gotten mail back for additional postage....never a trade but I've forgotten to put stamps on bills or sufficient postage on rebates (thick label ones).

9|1|Yes, but if it was mine coming back to me it's my own fault....I am terrible about not getting envies weighed, I guess I've been doing this for so long I 'know' an ounce when I feel it in my hand, lol. I find it uncanny though that the ones I sent come back to me, but the ones from others come to me with the postage due, lolol|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:33:08|09/16/2008|

Both the post mistress and her relief.....weigh EVERYTHING that they feel is insufficient....Kristy will tell you....I am constantly griping about it....but if i do not pay they will start to send everything back....there are weeks that i get 3 or 4 envies with postage due....The biggest problem is the new envie pricing on padded mailers or thickness type issues...and at times, it comes metered out of a po, and they still put postage due on it...My situation is a catch 22 as they know i want/need the mail in a timely manner. I weigh any/all items that i send unless i know it is 1 ounce. Of course, that just means leaning across the counter and putting on the scale myself most of the time.....

I've had an out & out brain fart & simply forgotten to affix a stamp. LOL) but I receive an occasional postage due.... Not very often so I'd have to say maybe about once a year or so, if that....

I've only had a few envies received postage in all of my years of trading. I just leave the money in a ziploc with the envelope in the mailbox. The only time I've asked a trader to reimburse me for postage due was a few years ago. I won an auction box and paid for parcel post plus delivery confirmation. The box was being sent from one state away, and took almost three weeks to get here. When I received it, it was postage due, and had been opened because the sender sent it media mail!! (It didn't meet media mail guidelines in any way, shape or form.) I scanned and emailed a copy of the box lid to the trader, and requested reimbursement. She refunded my postage.

Funny since we were just talking about this the other day. The envelope was stamped "postage due" and the amount of .42 was written in next to it. And the mail carrier included a little envelope for me to put the .42 in! That's funny cause I've never gotten the envelope to put the money in before - only the mailed envelope with postage due written on it, and I never knew what I was supposed to do about it before! LOL.

Just thought I'd share.
