just asking...i have had an ear infection for over a 6 wks now... i was put on an antibiotic and eardrop, then two more antibiotics and eardrop when it came back. then the fluid was still in my ear, and i had pain radiating from my shoulder up to my ear, so i went back and found i had an outer ear infection, so more drops and allegra to try and drain fluid. the neck pain was so bad for a few days, but most of that has subsided. my other ear started hurting too, so i used the ear drops in that one a couple times and it seems better. i still have fluid in my ear, it's not bad, just annoying. i have an ENT appt next wed. hopefully they will find something or do something to make this better. just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this...i think it's a viral ear infection that will have to go away on it's own (according to searches on the internet). it can't be bacterial since the antibiotics didn't work. i have never had anything like this before or felt so yucky in my life. for days i didn't have any energy becasue of the neck pain. i'm getting back a little now, i have to, i had to go back to work! luckily i was off for almost a week.

You could also try warm moist compresses.
