My niece is on a softball team. They are all 7-10 year old girls. There ate 15 of them....

Were looking for ideas on where to get cool sample items and other little freebies (coupons for free doughtnuts or burgers, anything) to fill goodie bags up for them to receive at the end of the season.

Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

1 . "You could try calling the store managers directly and tell them what you are looking for...many times donut shops etc..have "frees" cards in them, you just have to ask. Worse they can say is "no""

I know the DQ in Ashland supports kids sports. Other places that come to mind are small mom and pop bakeries, small grocers (might donate snacks or something that could be used.)

One thing I know from the volunteer work I've done is that if you ask for specific things, you will probably have better luck. We did an easter party and asked grocery stores for things like eggs or drinks/cups and all of them came through with something. I would ask for maybe 2-3 different things (in the # you need) and see what happens. The other thing is that stores like a few weeks notice.

Do you have any Food 4 Less or Sherms stores up there? They are great at supporting community things, so if you do have them, definitely ask them. Oh and we just sent letters first and then folowed up with phone calls.

HTH. Good luck. Vanessa

we do something similar for my two boys on soccer and baseball... after each game one parent brings some goodies but at the big events we include a whole bunch of samples etc.

can you ask each parent to contribute $1 or $2?

go to the local ice cream -- ours gave coupons for free cones as
a donation

local firehouses/first aid squads/police etc. usually have some free stuff for kids for safety such as pencils, books, coloring books, stickers etc.

our local bank had some giveaways they were willing to donate - key chains/coloring books/even small banks and t-shirts

local restaurants or food chains may give coupons for a free dessert or food item

ask some local stores and businesses if they have any giveaways with their store name on it to give -- they'll do it for their stores promotion especially if they are in the town where the children play ball...

hope this helps.
