They went to Meijer today, Brought back 1 small bag of litter(the last bag on shelf), No bag of potatoes, (so brought back bag of frozen potatoes, No pepsi. He also said no toilet paper was on the shelves. I ordered 2 bags of cat chow and a 2 bags of friskies He brought back 2 bags of cat chow. The driver said thats all there was. I have a order in at walmart will see what I get. The shelves are empty here if southern Ohio. What are we to do. The trucks are coming in empty. Is this the start of food shortage or this lazy people that will not work?

Have a great day Gloria

There are many serious problems going on. We are seeing food shortages, shipping crisis, shortage of truck drivers, labor shortage. Many don't want to work because of low wages. On top of that, many companies, including hospitals, schools/colleges are requiring their employees to get the vaccine and many are refusing, quitting their job. This is happening all over. With all this going on, it's going to get worse. Time to stock up now if you can for the winter.

I get 88 dollars a month in food stamps it goes up to $100.00 the first of the year. There is so many things we take for granted that we use and do not think about it until there not there no more.

I think things are out of control and it will be a very long time before, if ever things get back to be normal. I sure do not like
the kids having to take shots, when the parents do not want them to. To me the shot thing is being pushed out of control and it is being pushed to hard. I really feel that down the road things will back fire with these shots. What happened to the rights of the people. It seems that we do not have any rights anymore.

I also feel that people will stock up on things and then charge people a lot of money for the things they need.
Have a great day Gloria

My husband and I both started working at age 13 and got good educations and worked full time so we are lucky enough to have good retirement money.

Remember refunder Mary Kenyon who used to write all those Thrifty books - time to go back to the old ways - washcloths with soap and water instead of wipes, learn how to make lots of things with cheap meats - I can take those chicken scraps and turn them into soup and tacos, etc. I grew up on chop meat and can also turn that into a zillion things too. I now feed my dog homemade food instead of the prepackaged stuff. Remember 30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray - her website has tons of animal food recipes

I have 18 jars of Vero Gusto sauce I got for free - have to figure out how to use all of them!!

I rarely buy any HBA stuff unless it's free. I currently have about 30 shampoo and 15 toothpaste, free Softsoap and lotions and lotions and lotions

Maybe we should all start a thrifty page?

There are so many things going on here - the cargo ships off the coast, the new rules for drivers, the vaccine mandates, panicked people buying everything off the shelf, low wage workers refusing to work.

My son drives a big rig for Werner and says he can take all the overtime that the DOT would allow him....he is 40yo and tells me that many of his friends with low wage jobs have just quit because they get all sorts of money from the government....I still cannot see how people can live on that small amount but they do.....disability, food stamps, WIC, special unemployment that was handed out, extra money per kid, Medicaid. Again, I don't know how they do it. I had to help out my son (who has 3 sons) with winter coats and shoes for OH for the upcoming winter. And he works a full time job with benefits???

I have never ordered a grocery delivery - I don't want someone else squeeezing the tomatoes and smelling stuff......LOL!!!

Just got home from Publix here in The Florida Keys - everything normal - sale prices are the same (I don't buy things unless they're on sale - I am a good planner). The Hershey Kisses I need for a meeting Tuesday were too expensive so I'll wait - CVS is usually cheaper with all their ECB offers

and feel bad for people who cannot get out or have no family to help them.

I had ovarian cancer when I was 29 and I am alive and pretty well 41 years later....and my two adopted foster sons have families of their own, one grandchild is legally blind and I still count my blessings. After a horrible year of chemotherapy, I made sure I took care of my body, exercising and eating right (I cannot even remember the last time I had any sort of fast food). I quit smoking right after the chemo.

Obviously, I don't know how your supermarket works....mine still have all fruits and vegetables out in the air and you can smell and squeeze everything and anything. I make the butcher bring meat out for me to inspect before he can package it and mark it.....and if I don't like it too much, I make him lower the price.....LOL!!!
