of going to an actual doctor's office? I was wondering if you need just a regular cell phone or what. With Covid-19, I've heard that people have started using telehealth more. If you use this or know someone who does, please post any facts you have--such as the cost and what they need for the first appointment. I don't know if they accept insurance like Medicare or not. I'm pretty sure there are certain things they don't treat that way since an actual examination is needed. Thanks for any info.

I refuse to do tele health - I am almost 69 years old with multiple health issues - I want a real person to check my blood pressure (you can learn a lot of things by your doctor doing your blood pressure in both arms more than simply numbers), listen to my heart sounds (checking for valve leaks and prolapses) , listen to my carotids for bruits (listening to your carotid artery to see if it is getting blocked), feeling the size of my thyroid (been hypothyroid for 40 years).....I want somebody to palpate my abdomen

I have Medicare and it covers my telehealth visits 100.%. I had to download the Microsoft Teams app then they send me an email about an hour in advance of my appt. and I click Join Meeting in that email. That takes me to the waiting room at Microsoft Teams where it says someone will join you shortly. You need to make sure your camera and microphone are turned on and usually my doctor logs on right on the dot. We can see and hear each other and it’s a great way to talk to your doctor without actually going into the office. But I believe first time appointments have to be in person and of course serious illnesses. Hope that helps a little!

I also had Covid...a mild/moderate version and was at home with it. i wasn't well enough to drag my behind to a doctor's office. But having a doctor on the line in a couple hours time (rather than the couple of days it can take to get an appt) was so much better/more convenient"
