They are phasing out those codes. I asked about the lack of codes on the coca-cola facebook page. Their reply...

Beginning in January 2019, POWERADE has begun phasing out Product Codes under cap while expanding usage of sip & scan. Please keep an eye out for new sip & scan-enabled POWERADE products which will provide a whole new way to receive exclusive content and offers

disaster.

They had a sip and scan before and you did not even have to buy the d--- product. Just go to the drink isle and take a photo with your camera. I think they required 5 or maybe 10. We got all but one and scanned over two dozen items over and over trying to get the 5th one (or maybe the 9th). Sip and scan will slowly eliminate some of the rest of us. We can not afford a high priced phone for sip and scan photos since last time we never could get the very last one needed. We had the right product but the scans with our phone were clear, etc. but their system never accepted the last one we needed as "not legible.
The program is headed down hill it seems.

then the underside of the cap is running out of room for more characters if they voided 14 digit codes.

They scrapped 12 or 13 digits a couple years ago. Anyone know when they did that?

The more digits the harder the codes will be able to be read by those with glasses.

Also if they had any brains, they would have software to capture all the code numbers from all previously used codes and begin using those codes over again. Easy to do because no products currently have the previously used codes and no person has any of them either. That is a way to recycle the redeemed 14 character codes.

Obviously, Coke did not get what they expected out of these offers

Either they offer something in order to get a lot of slippage.....more people buy Coke to get free stuff but forget to enter the codes.....this is called "slippage" and brings a lot more sales to Coke

Or they offer things that they know will not work so they can write it off as a loss in their advertizing budget

Of course, some companies actually offer things to make their consumers happy.....but I don't think that is often......Look at the Edys guarantee where nobody got paid without having to email Inmar......got an Email from Edys today saying that the error was the clearinghouses's fault and not their fault and too bad, so sad
