So as per usual every Christmas since 2010 I've received NOTHING!! Actually I take that back there's a kind trader who always sends me a beautiful card & CD's/Stamps.
I cried for 3 days straight, I was so upset. Some will understand & many won't but I wasn't blessed with children, I've been single since 2010, I have no family here in the US (I'm from the UK). I always feel alone & left out at Christmas like an abandoned orphan.
Anywhoo to add insult to injury I've been down with the Flu, Pneumonia since New Year's Day which I spent alone & housebound.
I've been feeling a tad pitiful of late, but another trader here on RS just made my day with an act of kindness.
Now here's the thing, yes I'm glad to be alive & have the activity of my limbs, a roof over my head etc. & I know that Jesus loves me & is always with me, but that sad loneliness is not fun. The suicide rate hikes around the holiday season (I have no plans to end anything but my feelings of woe).
So I've decided to take drastic action. Instead of wallowing in self pity this year I'm going to host a White Christmas at Church.
There's a 'thing' called a Blue Christmas (Google it) but just the name alone is disheartening. My White Christmas will be for those who are alone, have no children/family & spend Christmas, giftless, left out & sad. Everyone will get a wrapped gift which will be waiting for them under a tree. There will be a traditional Christmas spread with all the trimmings, Christmas Carols, a sermon on Christmas etc.
The point of me telling you about all this is......sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make someone's day & turn it around. One random act can leave someone feeling blessed above & beyond.
I'm not looking for pity & the only thing I'm going to ask for is that we be kind towards each other whenever we can.

I am sure that planning the White Christmas will keep your own spirits up while doing something to lift others!
Small acts of kindness only take a bit of our time.
RAOKs and Kindness Rocks are just small ways to brighten someone's day.
