I get sooooooooooo much junk mail that I'm trying to use some of the return envelopes that come inside them. I know I have to black out the bar code that runs along the bottom edge of the envelope, but what about the column of horizontal bars that sometimes is under where the stamp goes? There's also sometimes a few vertical lines near the center of the top edge of the envelope. Do all of these lines need to be blacked out or covered up, or just the one along the lower edge? I don't want my mail to get returned or worse, end up in snail mail la la land.

scrap paper for me to write on at the pharmacy other wise my daughter has been saving them and making recycled paper with them, or paper mache projects at home.

I simply run a black marker over the bar code along the envie bottom, and a mailing label over any address on the envie. The bar codes where the stamps go are worthless and will not affect your mailing.

Now, as for all the unwanted junk mail that has "postage-paid return envelopes"....I simply fold up all the items it came with, along with the original envelope, and send it back to the owner! Ha! Make them pay for the return of their own junk mail.
