Got this off the board a few days ago, wrote them suggesting they delete the lengthy harassing post on Auctions; I never heard back. Yesterday afternoon I couldn't get into the board - I figured it was an update of some sort. Today Rewards is only part I can get into.

She had to try and fight with those people. She then went and made the post in another forum ( coupon or rebating) about tags, rebates etc. she just tried to get the heat off herself and threw entire boards under the bus. I have heard only bits an d pieces of what I thought were assumptions and theories-- they sounded so far fetched and unbelievable that I didnt' want to lend them much credibility. I have seen that some members seem to use the board primarily for venting anger and wanting to hurt others. If there is anything to be learned from all this... well, I'm sure there is but I'm still figuring it out. If you think you have been wronged and you are determined to take revenge, be aware that sometiems your actions will just cause more damage to more people. Two wrongs dont' make a right is how it is often stated..... the mods supposed to do? Pick a side according to the facts given them by the "victim" and the "accused"? If you had been a moderator, what exactly would you have done to calm the waters and appease those who were determined to stir up a storm? I may be wrong but I seem to remember someone posting "I want my money back and I'm not goign to stop posting this til the mods step in and do something." My memory is not infallible but that is what I remember reading. The mods are not paid or qualified to act as judges in a dispute. So this was the outcome. and IF this nonsense was actually the reason they did shut it down, I don't blame the moderators one bit.
These boards and any website are hard to maintain and cost money. Too many people on here evidently think it's "the moderator's job" to provide this service and it certainly is not. When the snoopying and bickering starts, who wants to listen to that? We have enough of it with the media, the politicians, and the Hollywood kooks. We do not need that in our lives. Some people are downright hateful.
The moderators are providing a SERVICE and when it gets to where it's not appreciated, why should they continue to provide that service? Its's the same thing with the UPC list that I provide for FREE. When another person sold this info for what I thought was a very hefty price ($50.00), I was disgusted with that because I had went out to many stores and provided a lot of numbers to her that she was looking for. When I needed a number one time, many years ago, she refused to provide it telling me I had to pay for the information. I decided then and there, I would start my own list.
BUT here's the kicker. I state that I cannot guarantee the numbers because there are so many products, there would be no way for anyone to be able keep that up. You would not believe the hate mail I get when someone gets refused on an offer because a number may be wrong, a typo, or just that the numbers have changed (like another company buying that product out). It's not my fault but I am admonished because a number wasn't up to date, etc. Many times, I have asked myself why I bother to keep doing it. I know a lot of people appreciate me doing it but it's the hateful ones that put a bad taste in your mouth.
I hope the moderators bring the Refund and Coupon boards back, but I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be.

You are not going to accomplish anything that helps you or anyone else... I'm so afraid that the end result will be that we lose this board too. Maybe that had not occurred to you. I vaguely recall somethign aobut the rules of the board including a general awareness of the Golden Rule. Many here would be so upset to lose any way to communicate.
