My DH and I planned a move from Norman, OK to Richmond, MO on May 25, 2002. I called UHaul around the 10th of May to reserve a 17 foot truck and a car trailer for the move on the 25th. When DH arrived to get the truck, the man told him they did not have either one for him. When he got upset about this, the man said "What do you want me to do, construct a truck?". We tried calling Penske and Ryder to see if they had a truck for us and of course, they didn't on such short notice. After all, we were not just moving across town. I wrote UHaul a letter and still have not gotten a reply from them. Just had to let everyone know not to rent from them.

I think it must be all of the moving companies. I made a reservation a month inadvance when I moved to be with my husband here in Fort Sill, OK. When I went to pick up the truck they didn't have any! I had to drive all over Pittsburgh, PA trying to find a truck through Ryder. It still cost me the $1,000! But uHaul and Penske wanted about $1,400. I bet you won't hear from them. We had a horrible experience with them. They didn't have a truck for us, we had to drive 40 miles out of our way to get one. They said they do not guarantee a location of the truck, just that they have a truck. DUH!!
