The soundtrack to the 2008 Pixar animated film WALL*E consists primarily of composer Thomas Newman's orchestral score. As with his music for FINDING NEMO, Newman mixes grand symphonic passages (the sweeping "2815 A.D.") with lighter chamber pieces (the easy-going "Bubble Wrap"), resulting in an emotionally engaging album that can stand on its own merits. The collection also includes "Down to Earth," an atmospheric pop tune by Newman and Peter Gabriel.
