If any of you can say a prayer for daughter I would appreciate it very greatly. This evening she pulled out her G/J tube. I have to take her to IU Med in Indy tomorrow to get it replaced BUT this happened in June too and the operation was VERY rough on her recovery wise as well as the actual operation. Both Drs and her had quite the time. Her spine has severe scoliosis and everything inside is pushed over due to that. That had a very very hard time getting the last tube in..even finding the stomach opening. She has had it for over 10 yrs and this is the 2nd time in a few months and the only times it's happened all these years. Not sure 'why' it's happening now. I am going to talk to the surgeon about putting her to sleep this time to do it which is a scary thing in itself for her but she was in sooo much pain last time for a few days afterward even as they said it's just like starting all over and putting in a brand new one from 'scratch' in her. They won't do it tonight at IU as it's not 'life threatening'. Very scary situation for her. Thank you so much for any prayers for her and to guide the surgeons hand and anesthesiologist as well if we need to go that route. God bless!
PS..for you nurses out there, yes..I did clean technique and put some of the tube (after cleaning it as well) into the stoma to keep it open and taped the tape down etc. :)

Thank you everyone for all the prayers and continued prayers. She got thru the surgery OK although it was as we predicted a very rough one. They had to call in the anesthesiologist to sedate her..still rough time finding and doing the G/J tube but luckily we got the same Dr who did it last time so he was familiar with her anatomy etc from that. She has had bad diarrhea every few hours all night and must have bad cramps with that as well as well as pain from the operation as she was very fussy/crying and uncomfortable. I was able to earlier this morning give her some Motrin so that seemed to help a lot and now just making sure she gets enough fluids and not dehydrate. She needs to move that contrast out of her body so the BM's are good..just keeping a eye on the situation. Continued prayers are appreciated as she isn't totally out of the woods. I am keeping a close eye on her for any infection/fever etc as well and hope she doesn't do this again. Dr is stumped on 'why' it happened other than maybe they are getting 'cheap' on the 'balloon' end of the G/J tube..you know they just dont' make things the way they used to so maybe it's just not holding up and deflating before the life span of the balloon should be up.
