Don't spend any money, you don't need to! Here's some good TOTALLY FREE places to look:

http://www.mysteryshop.org/

This site has all kinds of information, including jobs in all areas! I don't do it much myself, but a friend of mine was looking for information, and this site came up.

I also have a few others, from specific companies that still send me emails:

www.jancynonline.com (I get invites for Ruby Tuesdays and Vitamin outlet mostly)
www.secretshopper.com
www.amusementadvantage.com (specifically recreation and amusement places, I get invites for local skating rinks)

I also get emails from this person regarding some jobs, but I don't remember what company she's with. You might try emailing her to see where to go to sign up:
Tressa@ambussvcs.com

Hope that helps get you started!
Shannon

I work for over 30+ legit companies. I never pay to get mystery shops. They pay me to shop or I don't do it. I can send you information if you like. I do shop a lot where there's a certain amount of $ reimbursement plus pay for a shop, or the shop is just a free meal.

Seldom did reimbursement shops..lol..lots of apartment shops :) I did it for about 3 years and guess I got burned out with it. I do them every now and then but for the most part I am "retired" ..for the time being anyway.

Check out Volition -the site has alot of companies listed to sign up with. NEVER pay for info or to shop.

Sometimes I think people think I'm nuts when I say I do this and can actually make money. With my large family I like the free meal ones and sometimes the reimbursement ones a whole lot. Recently the grocery store reimbursement ones are my favorite because I can coupon, mystery shop, get reimbursed for what I pay so little for, and get paid to go to the store lol.

Its great when the shops are places you actually shop at. I just didnt like the reimbursement only ones but defitely didn't mind doing ones that paid a shop fee as well as reimbursed my purchase :) Do you do audits and merchandising as well? I actually got my mom into MS'ing. She didn't even know what it was before I started doing it. She got into setting up displays and such. I just didnt care to do that type of work but I liked doing the audits..lol :)

Edited to say there is money in mystery shopping but if your looking to make quick funds to ..say pay a bill, then mystery shopping is not for you. On the average you wait 6-8 weeks to get paid sometimes longer, rarely sooner. A few of the companies paid quick (1-2 weeks) but for the most part for example work completed in June would be paid in end of July/early August . In the beginning you will feel like where's my money but after about 2 months you would have steady checks coming in. In the beginning you will also be doing a lot of $10.00 shops (that's how it was with me anyway) but over time as you prove yourself and accept the lower paying job, you will be offered higher paying jobs. Most of the apartments and bank shops I did paid 20-50 for a 1-2 hours of work (including time spent doing reports)I can tell you that MOST places are shopped ( even Disney World :) )and if you sign up with enough places you will find out who. Please don't ask me what companies shop who because I am not allowed to tell you! Also go through independent schedulers (a bulk of my shops were scheduled that way) For the first year I had to spend a lot of time daily searching for jobs but as you prove yourself, they will start contacting you.

Yeah I'm going to start merchadising for Target in about two months. It's a brand new store and since we're moving into a new house this friday I wanted to wait on the merchandising until then. I really enjoy movie checks as well. Not sure about you but patron counts, and watching a free movie plus pay always works in my book!

Also I love the ones that pay with paypal! I don't know about you but it's so much easier than waiting for a check in the mail.

Thanks for the link! That was the first free site I ever found, but I lost it in a computer crash years ago and couldn't remember it anymore. I just might get back into this!
