my ds is 2wks old today weights about 8lbs 8ozs and is driving me mad lol he is eating every 2.5 hrs he is taking 3ozs of formula should i increase it and see if he can go longer in between feedings or wait and see or what? any advice is welcomed :)

My twins ate every 3 hours on the dot in the beginning...we could set the clock by them. Maybe you could offer just a little more and see if he takes it, but I'd say he's doing OK.

My 7 weeker was at 4-5 oz at 2 weeks, they will stop when they are full. Plus they will sleep longer if they are full :)

3 . "I say increase the amount available to him and let him eat until he is finished. If he were a breast fed baby, he would eat until he turned away from it himself, so, I think the same should hold true for the bottle. Make more available for him and he will naturally finish when he is finished."

My son was 5lbs 14ozs when he was born and eating 4-6 ounces in one sitting. But the end of his first month, he was up to 8-12 ounces lol.
Hungry little boy. Hee hee. Now almot 7 months later he's about 27 inches and 22lbs. They grow up so fast.

Make more formula available, and maybe he will eat more at a time. He might not start doing that right away, though, so don't be concerned if you have leftover formula in the bottle. Babies naturally eat until they are full, so he will eat exactly what he needs at the time and no more or no less. As time goes on and he gets older, he will gradually start eating more at a time and the feedings will not be so close together. Sounds like he is right on track and doing great!

Breast milk digests quicker, so if you are breastfeeding maybe that is part of his hunger. If you are just using formula than I would try to just give him a little more, if you think it is upsetting his stomach or making him fussy just go back to the smaller amount. and congrats on the new baby!!!

I TRIED TO GO FROM 3 TO 4 OZ AND HE DRANK IT FINE BUT IT CAME BACK UP RIGHT AFTER JUST LIKE IT WENT DOWN LOL LAST NIGHT HE ABOUT KILLED ME WANTING TO EAT EVERY 2 HRS SUCKING ON HIS FISTS LIKE HE WAS STARVING :) HE HAD HIS CHECK UP YESTERDAY HE WEIGHS 8.13 LBS AND IS 21 INCHES LONG NOW... GROWING VERY GOOD...IF I COULD JUST GET HIM TO GO LONGER BETWEEN BOTTLES..IT TAKES HIM A FEW MINUTES 30 ALMOST TO GO BACK TO SLEEP AFTER A FEEDING SO I AM UP EVERY 1.5 HRS FEEDING HIM ETC ITS GETTING TO BE A STRAIN LOL HOPE HE DOESNT KEEP IT UP LONG...I ADDED RICE TO MY OTHER KIDS BOTTLES BUT THEY WERENT THIS YOUNG THEY WERE AT LEAST A MONTH OLD ...

Mine both did, but I bf'd them... talk about every hour and a half! At least with a bottle, they get what they need when they want it. With nursing, it takes a little time to adjust to the increase in milk demand.
