My postmaster told me the other day stamps are going up to $.43 in May. Just a heads up to get those 'forever' stamps now in anticipation of that rate change...

Good thing I just bought a book of Forever stamps today. Going to go buy a couple more books of them tomorrow to hang onto to use when the new increase goes into affect so it won't sting so bad at 1st.

Found this on one of the business sites. But who knows how high they will be when this goes into effect!!

The U.S. Postal Service wants to adopt these increases before 2009, when a new pricing law takes effect. It will let the USPS raise rates on an annual basis but by no more than the prior year’s inflation rate.

In 2007, the U.S. Postal Service will issue the Forever stamp, which will always be valid as First-Class postage on standard envelopes weighing one ounce or less, regardless of any subsequent increases in the First-Class rate. The stamp art depicts the Liberty Bell, which is perhaps the most prominent and recognizable symbol associated with American independence. Over the years, the historic significance of the bell's message has transcended our national borders, and today the Liberty Bell is an international icon of freedom. Replicas of the Liberty Bell exist in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
