Ok So back in Sept I applied (SSI) after sending everything they wanted I recieved a letter the other day that said I qualified for the medical part and would get a letter about the finacial part soon. I recieved it today and was denied as they take into consideration my Moms accounts as well since she lives with us Sooo I called to ask if I took my name off my Moms account would that help and was told no He then asked if it was a letter from SSI or reg Social Security I told him SSI and he said that I maybe still able to collect reg SS so I asked if I should wait to get a letter he said to hold on and then checked my records and said I was approved for reg SS and that he needed to talk to me about Nick but couldn't today as he had a meeting so I have to wait till Mond now my question is Will Nick be getting a check as well?

his daughter got a check until she was 18, she lived with her mom and not him though.

,the way they explained to my mom .if you have a living husband..who is working.... they assume he should be the provider for his children.......so according to what they told her......u could draw..but the children couldnt.......but if your hub was the one disabled...then the children could draw off him.....

because of the income requirements so I thought I was outta gas till he told me I had been approved for just the reg and then Nick gets something as well they do know that I live with my dh I used to get the papers that used to break it down for me but I haven't gotten one since I left work a couple of years back

I've seen it countless times..... Gary's income shouldn't factor into anything to do with your SS disability. I believe they refer to it as SSDI for both you and Nick. :)

I got an attorney for me. I had to do all the "leg work" (getting medical records, etc....) and he never would meet with me until I got a court date. Then I met him 30 mins. before the hearing and he didn't READ my history and everything he said in court was wrong and I spoke for myself. It was terrible. Once the judge approved me - I then called Judge Anderson back and let him know that I had to do all the leg work and I didn't think it was fair for my attorney to get $4000.00 for ONLY 30 minutes on the job. Well the judge only gave him $2000.00 & gave me the other $2000.00. OH man my attorney was MAD, but hey I did the work and all he did was FILE it with Social Security. You can do that yourself.

So be very careful about the attorney, even those that say they don't get paid unless you do, be sure to check to see how much he will get if you do win!!!
