Posted on Oct-22-17 at 05:42 PM (Eastern) by 76.85.11.32 We did these a few times last year... in the cooler months... so here's the rules: Purchase a pair of socks, can be holiday related, fuzzy socks, cute socks, plain socks.... doesn't matter... you list should be items that can fit in the box... We will do shipping by the 20th of the month, so that it is off set from the regular swap.... good examples of what is good to put on your list: gift cards candy make-up chap-stick samples jewelry key chains Price should be 15-20 not including postage or socks, ONLY send items from the list don't guess what you think they want... sending unwanted items ISNT ok, its ok to ask if they would like a certain thing and it's appreciated if you ask before sending. IF YOU SEND ITEMS THAT IS NOT ON THEIR LIST YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE!!!!! Please let me know if you have any questions...

But someone just asked me a question and I went to re read the sock swap info And then went to my notes To see what I spent & sent..... i realized what the Amount sock swap was suppose To be and realized I sent double the value. I always keep notes just Because I do so many swaps. But anyways. Note to self Read. Lol. But my peeps are good. I’m good. But, adhering to the "value range" set by the swap maintains the balance of reciprocity. That is, equal on both sides. I learned of this many years ago by my anthropology prof. She shared she bought her BFF a microwave for Christmas. On the day they exchanged gifts, she was excited to gift her, but her friend was bummed because she had gifted her a CD. A nice and desired CD, but still not as outstanding as a microwave. So, she felt distanced. They were no longer equals. The gift inadvertently caused pain. I have a friend who has been going through really tough times. Our gifting "value" has been lowered. I'm sneaking a little more in, saying I caught a deal, but it's just a little more. She's my BFF. I would not want her to feel we were no longer equals. A dollar, two or three over, is reasonable, but do try to keep the balance. Your partner may not remember what you gave but they will remember how it - and you - made them feel. We (us swappers) are all reasonable and understand life happens. I have been late and just emailed the person. They were very gracious and thanked me for letting them know.
