Rather than litter the August Swap thread with non-swap posts, am dedicating this thread for comments.
First, I want to give a HUGE shout out to Shelley for all the work she does for our benefit. Herding cats is a thankless job. That she volunteers to do it says volumes about her generosity.
Second, as she said, swaps supposed to be FUN! On both the gifter's and the recipient's parts. None of us get everything exactly as we wanted. But part of the fun is looking over another's list and going on our treasure hunt in our area with a $20-25 budget (excluding shipping). It's terrific if we can get a lot of bang for the buck and be extra generous with our partner but we must be equally thoughtful about our expectations and provide some wiggle room for our partners to be generous with us. Of course, if you receive a $9.99 coupon off diapers and you have no children and it's not on your list, it only leads to anger and resentment, which takes the air right out of the happy balloon.
We're all grown-ups here. Let's play nice in the sandbox and stop stressing out Shelley and other fellow traders.
