Introducing the Book Swap! This is a new swap in which you can swap gently used or new books for others you don't have. It is the same concept as a PIF (Pay It Forward) but with books! To participate, you claim a book from the list, then list 5 or more books you HAVE for someone else to "claim". Since these are books, please list the whole title and author's name; if it is a number in a series, list the number if you know it; please list the condition of each book, describing any flaws if not new. Children's books, adult books, cookbooks, homeschool books, etc. are all welcome.
Note--book titles are usually underlined, but I don't know how to do that here, so titles are in quotation marks. I will be listing my books by category. Feel free to do this, or not, as you choose. As soon as I get my post up, we will be ready to start! Enjoy!

Example:

I have:
1. Magic Treehouse "Afternoon on the Amazon", Mary Pope Osborne, #6 in series--NEW, paperback
2. Boxcar Children "The Yellow House Mystery", Gertrude Chandler Warner, #3 in series, cover shows minor shelf wear--very good condition, paperback
3. "Born in Death", Nora Roberts, hardcover book, very good condition
4. "Tommyknockers", Stephen King, paperback, creasing along spine and on cover, good condition
5. "Junie B. Jones is Graduation Girl", Barbara Park, NEW paperback
6. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone", J. K. Rowling, very good condition, minor shelf wear, name written on inside front cover

When someone sees something they'd like, they would reply (for example):
I claim #4 - "Tommyknockers" by Stephen King
and then inside list the 5 or more books they have...

1. V.C. Andrews book + appropriate details, etc.
2. Magic Treehouse book
3. John Grisham book
4. Beverly Cleary book
5. Writing workbook

and the next person would claim an item and so on.

*** Once you have claimed an item, please email your info to the person you claimed it from so that they know what to send and where to send it! It is your responsibility to contact them, not the other way around.

*** Many people appreciate being emailed when their PIF is received, so they know it reached you. Leaving feedback is also welcome!

RULES:

1. Always post at least 5 items, and feel free to post more. The more you list, the faster your book is likely to be claimed. Let's keep the game moving!

2. If no one claims your book within 48 hours of posting, please add 2-3 additional items to your list.

3. When your book is claimed, you have one week to send out the item. This means the item has to leave your hands within one week, NOT that it has to be received within one week.

4. This game is just like any other transaction in this community. Be responsible for your transactions!

5. MEDIA MAIL NOTE--Media mail is, of course, the cheapest way to mail books. However, please be aware that the USPS delivery of these books can take up to 9 business days. Please allow plenty of time for delivery!

I have to offer:

Children's Books:

1. "300 Incredible Things for Kids on the Internet" by Ken Leebow. Very good condition, paperback.
2. "Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus" by Barbara Park. AR level and points written on inside page, otherwise in excellent condition, paperback.
3. "Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Gold Coins" by David A. Adler. Green dot on cover, name written on inside page. Good condition, paperback.
4. "Scooby-Doo and the Zombie's Treasure" by James Gelsey. AR level and points written on inside page, otherwise very good condition, paperback.
5. "Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake" by Barbara Park. Former library copy, purchased at a book sale. Book is in excellent condition, looks like the library had just purchased it. It does have several stickers on the spine and back from the library. AR level and points written on inside page, paperback.
6. "The Invasion", Animorphs #1, by K.A. Applegate. Moderate shelf wear, good condition on inside, paperback.

Adult Books:

7. "Rock'N'Roll Babylon" by Gary Herman. Hardback book in very good condition. ADULT BOOK--story of rock stars and history of rock--contains some nude photos of stars. B&W photos throughout book.
8. "Fear of Fifty" by Erica Jong. Hardback, very good condition.

Education/Homeschooling:

9. "Year 'Round Activities for Four-Year-Old Children" by Anthony and Kathleen Coletta. Paperback workbook for preschool educators. Book is in fair condition--missing first 14 pages. Still a lot of useable information in here!
